Jim has been my best friend since we were little boys in kindergarten. Now we are almost men; well maybe we are young men, about to graduate high school, and go on to college. Anyway, Jim and I are tight as buddies can be. As luck has it, we applied to and were accepted at the same university. It's going to be fun to be away from our parents and home for the first time in our lives. But we will have each other so I am not worried. And we'll be in sunny California with all the great beach guys, surfing and stuff. I can't wait. But now, it's summer and Jim and I are doing things together almost every day. On weekends I hang out with my parents because that's what they want. After all, I think that THEY are the ones worried about my going away to school so far away. But during the weekdays, I am all Jim's. People always say, "Jim and Bill are like Siamese twins. You can hardly separate them." It's true. I really dig the guy. I've always thought that he is cool. And I know he has always felt the same about me.
      Yesterday we had some adventure and by day's end, we were no longer the same people that we were before. What I mean is that we went up the hill as boys and came down as men. But I'm getting ahead of myself. Let me tell you what happened.
